2024: A Year in Reivew
The Carol Stream Parks Foundation Bike Riding Club is comprised of a group of recreational bike riders of all levels who want to explore our unique access to bike trails in DuPage and Kane County. Carol Stream is unique because it has off-road bike trails in every direction, including ones that connect to the Great Western and Prairie Path. Our club had forty-eight members in 2024 and was established in 2014. Come ride with us!
Bike Club membership includes monthly guided bicycle rides on area bike trails through local towns. The membership is for as many or as few rides on our schedule that you choose.
All rides leave from the Simkus Recreation Center at 6pm on the 2nd Thursday and 9am on the 4th Saturday starting the end of April through October. Club members may participate in as many rides as their schedule allows. Thursday rides will be shorter and slower paced around 8–12-miles, while Saturdays will be longer covering twenty or more miles. When possible, rides will be split into 2 groups (slow and fast). Designated group leaders guide the rides.
Registration fee is tax-deductible and 100% of the proceeds go directly to, Carol Stream Parks Foundation – Carol Stream Park District.

The Carol Stream Parks Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing additional financial support for public parks, and recreation programs of the Carol Stream Park District. It is managed by a board of directors who live or work locally and are passionate about providing a strong financial foundation for parks and recreation in the community.
In case of inclement weather, rides will be cancelled 1-1/2 hours before the scheduled departure via email.
Bike helmets and lights are strongly encouraged. Class 1 E-Bikes are welcome, as long as they follow the park district rules when riding on Carol Stream paths. Carol Stream Park District does not allow Class 2 and Class 3 E-Bikes on their paths. See Carol Stream Park District Ordinance 411 Section 32 for more details.
All rides will take place on off-road bike paths. Our rides include round-trip trips to destinations in Wheaton, Glen Ellyn, West Chicago, Bartlett, Medinah, Bloomingdale, and beyond. Depending on the group’s interest, we plan multiple Saturday destination rides with a start/finish location at a nearby point of interest.
We ride as a group, and no riders are left behind. We must all ride in single file, exercising caution when encountering pedestrians and other riders. No experience necessary.
