Hampe Park

The park was renamed Hampe Park in honor of Norman Hampe, a park district commissioner who served 1971-77, 1985-87 and 1989-94. Hampe initiated the 1994 referendum that funded the park, but unfortunately died two months before it passed. The park used to be called Hartsing Farm because the farmhouse, now referred to as the “historical farmhouse”, was formerly owned by the Hartsing family.
