2024: A Year in Reivew
Murray’s Meadow is a 3.5-acre wetland, not exactly a meadow of greenery to prance and play in as meadows and grasslands are known. However, it is referred to as a meadow because the species of plants in this natural area are considered to be wet prairie plants. As part of a wetland mitigation project, these plants boost floristic diversity. Three of the most dominant plant species are rice cut grass, blue flag iris, and common rush. Other species include hairy white aster, white clover, tall goldenrod, prairie cord grass, lance-fruited oval sedge and rosin weed.
