Preschool

2025-2026 School Year: Sep 2 – May 15

Through education, recreation, and fun, our preschool program offers a balanced play-based learning approach perfect for first-time students. Creative daily lesson plans focus on the development of your child’s necessary prekindergarten skills such as letter and name recognition, printing, cooperative play, socialization skills, listening, and more. Structured and unstructured activities provide stimulating hands-on learning opportunities to promote your child’s physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.

The Carol Stream Park District Preschool program has been a community tradition for over 40 years. Our preschool at Simkus Recreation Center provides a safe and welcoming learning environment with access to amenities such as the gym and gymnastics room. Our passionate and experienced teachers are committed to working together to provide your child with the most enjoyable learning experience possible. Come learn and play with us today!

Extended Care

Offered for Preschool Participants

We are expanding our 3-4 year old preschool program to accommodate busy parents. Now offering morning, mid-day and afternoon extended care, your preschooler receives additional interaction with teachers and peers through games and playtime.

Participant must be registered for a class immediately before or after the selected extended care time. Not available for children registered in Preschool Prep or Kindergarten Readiness. Payment plan is available. Participants registered for the Mid-Day care bring their lunch.
