Basketball

Youth Basketball Leagues provide young athletes the opportunity to develop skills, teamwork, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. The Instructional League introduces ages 4-6 to basketball fundamentals through drills and mini games.

For grades 1-8, Winter and Summer Leagues feature practices, an eight-game season, and competition against teams from Carol Stream and nearby communities. Games are typically held on weekends, and all players receive a team shirt, with older divisions wearing district jerseys available for purchase.

Coaches

Coaching

Coaches may revoke playing time for participants that have missed an excess of practice time or are disciplinary problems. Before revoking playing time, the coach must inform Carol Stream Park District staff and the player’s parents prior to the game.

Responsibility

Coaches are responsible for their team before, during, and after all games and practices. Coaches should instruct players to report directly to the gym and remain there until the conclusion of the game of practice. Coaches are responsible for remaining at the practice or game site until the last player has been picked up.
